Penneys has recently revealed their extensive €5 million renovation of their iconic O’Connell Street store in the heart of Dublin Originally opened in 1992, the bustling O’Connell Street store, which is a key retail tenant in the area and welcomes thousands of shoppers daily, has undergone its largest transformation in over a decade Customers will immediately notice a brighter and more spacious store upon entering, with wider walkways, new paneling, updated signage both inside and out, and energy-efficient LED lighting, all aimed at providing a better shopping experience for customers looking for Penneys’ popular fashion staples and affordable everyday essentials Spanning 52,400 sq ft, the store’s new and slightly larger layout has been designed to enhance every step of the customer journey The beloved Kidswear department has been relocated to the first floor, where a larger range is now available for easier family shopping Additionally, the Home department has expanded, gaining an extra 1,217 sq ft of reclaimed space from relocated fitting rooms and service areas, now situated on the lower ground floor, offering an even wider selection of bedding, decor, and seasonal items
During the relaunch of the O’Connell Street Penneys, store manager Piers Cunningham shared with Dublin Live: “We are thrilled to introduce this new store concept to Dublin City Centre We have enhanced the experience for all of our customers with a new nail bar, self-service tills, and an improved fitting room experience Every fixture, fitting, floor, and wall has been updated to align with our sister store on Mary Street We hope our customers will enjoy the new and improved experience when they visit us today We offer incredible value for our customers, stay on top of fashion trends, and receive new stock weekly We have a loyal customer base and it’s fantastic to continue to update and enhance our offerings for them”
