    A former member of the iconic band Oasis, Zak Starkey, expressed his disappointment after finding out he would not be joining the band for their highly-anticipated reunion tour this year The tour, called Oasis 2025, was announced by brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher in August of last year, marking their first time performing together since their infamous split in 2009 The tour is set to begin in July in Cardiff and will include two nights at Croke Park in August Zak, who was the drummer for Oasis from 2004 until their breakup, appeared on BBC Breakfast today (May 27) to promote his latest track with the supergroup Mantra of the Cosmos, which also features Happy Mondays’ Bez and Shaun Ryder, as well as former Oasis member Andy Bell During the interview, Zak revealed that the new song, “Domino Bones,” was originally created by Noel Gallagher before being handed over to the supergroup He also hinted that the song might suit them better Noel once described the band as “like Dylan, Dalí and Ginsberg on a rocket ship to the moon to have it with the Clangers” When asked about his thoughts on the upcoming Oasis reunion tour, Zak expressed his disappointment at not being included in the lineup He shared that he had texted the brothers asking why he wasn’t a part of it, but understood that they may have gotten comfortable with a new drummer He also mentioned that he would have loved to tour with them, calling Oasis the “greatest rock and roll band of my generation” and Liam the “greatest rock and roll singer of my generation” Last week, Andy Bell confirmed that he would be joining Liam and Noel for the reunion tour The former Oasis bassist, who was with the band from 1999 to 2009, expressed his excitement about hitting the road again During the interview, Zak also talked about his time as the drummer for The Who He addressed rumors that he had been “sacked” after a show at the Royal Albert Hall in March, clarifying that he had not left the band He explained that during the show, they played a song called “The Song is Over,” which they had never performed live before However, the performance did not go as planned, and Zak was blamed for playing the drums too loudly He clarified that his drums were electric and he had no control over the volume Despite the mishap, Zak expressed his love for playing with The Who and his excitement for their future performances
